The Mindset, the Technique, the Body

Typically, a blog should have unified content, or at least reasonably classified content. But unfortunately, my personality seems to not be like that, so after introducing bags in the last post, this post introduces women's street bags.

NOPE, this post is about my mood.

Recently, I've read many similar chicken soup articles that mention very interesting points. The body's "shen" and "ti" do not refer to the same thing, "ti" refers to the limbs, or rather, strength, agility and flexibility. "Shen" refers to the trunk, including various organs that cannot easily survive after being cut off, such as the five viscera and six bowels.

We often use fitness as a means of maintaining or sculpting our bodies, but in reality, we are misled by this naming. Fitness actually makes the "ti" healthy. That is, through fitness, we get better strength, flexibility, and resilience. Of course, you can say that training the abdominal muscles is training the "shen", that is, the trunk, or that we have reduced body fat and internal fat, which is also healthy for the internal organs. This is certainly true, and now people's diet requires fitness to maintain the body.

However, from the definition of body function in this article, we can let the logic go a little further. Body function is defined in the article as "involuntary reflexive functions". That is, like the peristalsis of the stomach and intestines, the alternation of blood oxygen in the lungs, and the beating of the heart. We cannot through years of training, let the heart... for example... rest for two minutes. We can only do breathing exercises, and hold our breath for a few minutes.

To have a healthy and complete body function, it is important to pay attention to both the body and mind. Here, the heart refers not to an organ, but to mood, attitude, and thoughts. The relationship and adjustment between the body and mind is what the article considers modern people to need the most practice, and we often ignore this part, only expecting to quickly get a six-pack. Our mood directly affects, or damages, our organs, or more complete, the organs and the reflex function of the nervous system. Therefore, we have insomnia, anxiety, agitation, etc.

From the first level of thinking, nutrition and endocrine will affect our mood and attitude.

We all know that when blood sugar is low, we can become irritable, lacking logical reasoning, and some people may not become irritable, but may feel a bit panicked. But when we are in an irritable or panicked state of mind, we immediately feel "I am now so angry because this client is as stupid as a sloppy dumpling, what does this have to do with my blood sugar!?" Then, we roar at the client via facetime. But in fact, if you directly drink a can of cola while watching a movie, or eat some fried chicken and drink milk tea while watching Korean drama, you may feel that everything is more acceptable after finishing the 3~4 episodes. afterall you planing on getting a PS5 next month, you still need this last payment to be settled.

Of course, if you use this kind of therapy, then you should exercise more. I am just giving an example.

If we take care of our "minds" by taking two shots of adrenaline in the morning after waking up, taking a small dose of endorphins at noon, taking some tranquilizers in the afternoon, drinking some alcohol in the evening, and taking two muscle relaxants before sleeping, then this thing is more straightforward. Therefore, we need to talk about the second level of thinking related to mind and body, which is detachment.

Some online videos say that when we encounter something (unfavorable), we should make a strange cue sound and tell ourselves "Oh! This is an adversity." Another online video says that we should use self-esteem to think and use higher-dimensional forces to replace our own animal instincts to make decisions, which may not be very accurate. Anyway, as modern people's "minds" are becoming increasingly unhealthy, there are many such concepts derived to help us not be destroyed by high-pressure life.

In these more esoteric descriptions, the one I like best is this one. He says that we face a lot of information, and behind it, there is a moral criticism that is the main reason for our unnecessary emotions.

I am angry. This is the current mood. I am angry because my client is a moron. This is a moral criticism behind the psychological message.

I am angry because the changes the client made are impossible to be finished in one night, but they still expect me to finish them by noon tomorrow. I wish the client would realize that the budget they gave is so small and the initial requirements are so many, and now they are adding more changes without any shame. In the end, they even want to deprive me of my sleep time just so they can show their efficiency and saving the company money in front of their boss.

Actually, the reasons behind this are unnecessary. If you don't vent these feelings to the client and keep it inside, it will only hurt yourself. If you directly express it over the phone, even if the customer argues with you, you will still end up with the same level of harm, such as not being able to buy a PS5 next month.

In the description above, you will find that the stupid client actually has a supervisor, and this is probably the key of this article. That is, all the things that will hurt "feelings" are not touched by the supervisor, all handed over to the subordinates. If you also have a subordinate to clash with the other side, maybe you will still talk about this scenario as a joke when you go out for drinks with friends at night. Regardless of whether a stupid subordinate may be more deadly than a stupid client, the key to why you are angry is not in the client, not in yourself, not in your or the other party's right or wrong. It's just you and your subordinates got emotional blackmailed by the other party's supervisor group, and now the job is not so pleasant to execute.

If the other party's budget is not for you to buy a PS5 next month, but to let you buy a sports car next month, then this big modification which requires sleepless nights and endless rendering is not worth mentioning. Or if this bad stall can be directly OEMed out to the neighboring department or some young all-purpose assistant, then although you answered an unhappy phone call, but behind the salt and pepper chicken milk tea Korean drama therapy. You're just waiting for someone else's children to work hard and produce the result for you.

In business, equivalent exchange is usually about skills and physical aspects, but for the mind it is not equal at all. Therefore, we must use all means to plunder resources, so that we can always have the right to choose. And this kind of "mind" is called ambition when used in the right place, and greed when used in the wrong way. To distinguish between the two, if we reverse the roles of ourselves and the boss mentioned in the above text, then after our emotional balckmail goes on, if your cooperative manufacturer drive his new sports car over and give you a bottle of wine for appreciation next month, and your subordinates tell you that his new PS5 doesn't have many games released yet, and your boss thinks you are efficient and always help saving money for the company. Then it means that you have not only nurtured your own mind, but also protected others' bodies, so this emotional blackmail phone call is a nice move and everyone will be happy to get your late night facetime calls.

Unfortunately, the society we live in is more often the opposite, driven by greed, and fake fair techniques/rewards exchange. We may not be able to understand all the traps in society, but at least we can first cut off the moral criticism behind each emotion when it appears, and make adjustments to our response and actions from a detached perspective. Instead of forcing ourselves to improve our skills and speed up efficiency during work, and then forcing ourselves to lift weights and run to try to wash away negative emotions after work. But unconsciously, it's chronic oppression of "heart" balance and health.

As for what decisions we should make to turn around our resource allocation and gain more choice rights, and let ourselves maintain our physical and mental well-being forever. That may be another article.
