The work at BoxHill Studio in 2025 has undergone fundamental changes compared to previous years.
In the first quarter of this year, we’ll enter a period of quiet reflection and evaluation of our achievements. For the sake of the company’s steady development in the future, we hope to announce our efforts for this quarter only when everything is firmly in place. This year has been one filled with numerous public safety incidents, making it a highly volatile year. Is this a year for us to hold our ground, or should we push harder for a breakthrough? Personally, I find the outlook rather unclear at the moment. It could be said that this is the first time since starting the company that I feel the need to clearly understand what lies ahead before diving in headfirst.
This year is also a year of "things that unite must divide, and things that divide must unite."
Looking at the current situation, many observed changes involve replacing collaborative partners due to shifts in work and business models. However, from casual conversations with those around me, many collaborative relationships have ended due to a single miscommunication that made future cooperation impossible. Fortunately, such a reorganization of relationships hasn’t happened to us—or at least, not yet. Perhaps this is because our content creation tends to innovate forward, while our income primarily comes from long-established collaborations on past projects. Even though we attempted two 3D-related projects last year, the overall annual revenue remained largely unchanged.
On another note, I started the year with a severe cold.
“No communication, no misunderstandings” seems to have unintentionally saved me. While I was focusing on opening business communications for the new year, my severe cold prevented me from engaging in in-depth discussions with clients. During my recovery, I began noticing shifts in business relationships among many friends. I took the opportunity to step back and pump the brakes on some of my own firmly held positions.
If this is a year of “less talk, fewer mistakes,” then skipping a year of this seasonal conclusion blog is just fine.
Silence might be my best strategy this year!
Let’s replace criticism with more encouragement and support for one another.
Once everything stabilizes, we can bring out our sharp and efficient work modes to make money together—it won’t be too late by then.
